Class-D DSC VHF Marine Radio with Smart Device Remote Control
The IC-M510 EVO is a multifunctional and stylish VHF marine transceiver that also features innovative smartphone operation technology. Its built-in class D DSC provides essential maritime communication, supporting safety on the water. Integration with built-in NMEA 2000™ connectivity and two-way hailer/RX hailer functions enhances your experience at sea even more. Simple remote control through a smart device enables an unprecedented onboard communication experience. In addition, the product features a color display, navigation functions, and a stylish design that won an iF design award. It can be used for pleasure boats, fishing boats, sailing, as well as in rescue and public safety.
NMEA 2000™ and Loud 25 W Two-Way Hailer/20 W RX Hailer Now Built-in
The NMEA 2000™ network provides plug-and-play data communication to inter-connect with other marine equipment such as an MFD (Multi-Function Display.) The radio can send GNSS (GPS) position, AIS information*, DSC call, and radio channel data to other equipment.
* AIS receiver may not be included depending on the transceiver version.
When connected to the optional SP-37 speaker horn, you can talk with the crew on the deck or shore via the radio's microphone and hear any reply via the horn speaker. The RX hailer function enables you to keep watch of the radio traffic on the deck or tower through the hailer speaker. You can also sound foghorn patterns from the hailer speaker.
Radio Control & Intercom Through Your Smart Devices
Use the RS-M500 app (for iOS™/Android™) to remotely control the IC-M510 EVO through WLAN. Up to three smart devices can be used as a wireless microphone or simple remote control of certain functions. The IC-M510 EVO be controlled from anywhere on board, so you can make calls while working inside the vessel or checking the surroundings on deck. An intercom function between your smart devices/CommandMic™ and the radio is also built in.
Award Winning Sleek Design - iF DESIGN AWARD 2022
The IC-M510 series (including IC-M510 EVO) is a winner in the world-renowned iF DESIGN AWARD 2022. The radio can be installed in either panel or trunnion mounting and has a sleek design that looks great on a boat's black glass cockpit dashboard.
Wide Viewing Angle Color TFT LCD
The color TFT LCD provides nearly a 180-degree viewing angle. The wide display has high-resolution characters and function icons. Just hold down the DISP key to switch the Night mode screen which ensures good readability in low light conditions.
Built-in Class D DSC, “Distress” Button Can be a Lifesaver in an Emergency Situation
With just a press of the “DISTRESS” button, the built-in DSC (Digital Selective Calling) system can digitally transmit distress information to the Coast Guard and/or other vessels. The DSC watch function continuously monitors the DSC channel (Ch. 70) for added safety and security.
15 W Speaker Provides Clear and Loud Audio
The built-in waterproof speaker enhances the received audio and provides powerful, clear audio.
Integrated AIS Receiver*
With its integrated AIS receiver*1 or external NMEA sentence*2, the IC-M510 can show real-time AIS vessel traffic information on the display. You can directly make an individual DSC call to selected AIS targets from the AIS screen.
*1 AIS receiver is not included depending on the transceiver version. *2 Optional MA-510TR or third-party AIS receiver/transponder.
Simplified Navigation Function
The Navigation function guides you to a specified waypoint or AIS target. You can assign up to 100 destinations as waypoints, such as your favorite fishing spots or starting positions for yacht races.
Combined with MA-510TR Supports Safer Navigation
When connected to the optional MA-510TR Class B AIS transponder, you can send and receive real-time information about vessels, including identity, position, speed, course, and other relevant data, displayed on your screen. Making your vessel's position known to others helps prevent collisions and accidents, especially at night, in rough weather, or in crowded shipping routes. The MA-510TR enhances safety during navigation at sea.
Active Noise Canceling Technology
The Active Noise Cancelling digitally removes background noise from both transmit and receive audio and provides clear communication in a noisy maritime environment.

Ingress Protection (IP) Code
Ingress Protection (IP) ratings define the level of protection provided by enclosures to prevent the ingress of foreign objects (dust) and liquid into the electrical equipment.
International Standard IEC 60529 outlines an international classification system that describes the sealing characteristics of electrical equipment.
The classification system uses the “IP” code, or “Ingress Protection” code, to define the level of seal.
An IP number contains two numbers (i.e. IP67) in most instances which relate to the level of protection provided by an enclosure or housing.
Either number may be shown as “X” (i.e. IPX6 / IP7X) to indicate the “X” part is not tested.
Degrees of Solid Particle Protection – 1st Digit
IP6x | No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact. (Dust tight) |
---|---|
IP5x | Protected from the amount of dust that would interfere with normal operation. (Dust protected) |
Degrees of Liquid Ingress Protection – 2nd Digit
IPx8 | Protected against continuous immersion in water. Depth and duration specified by model. |
---|---|
IPx7 | Protected against temporary immersion in water for 1 m (3.3 ft) for 30 minutes |
IPx6 | Protected against water projected by powerful jets from any direction. 100 L per minute by a powerful jets (12.5 mm) for 3 minutes. |
IPx5 | Protected against water projected by jets from any direction. 12.5 L per minute by a nozzle (6.3 mm) for 3 minutes. |
IPx4 | Protected against water splashed against the equipment from any direction |
