MIL-STD-810 and IP55 Specifications
The IC-F7500 series has been tested to meet U.S. MIL-STD-810 G environmental tests and has a dust protection and water jet resistance rating of IP55. It can be used with peace of mind exposed to rain or splashing water, or in dusty conditions such as outside operation.
Bluetooth® Technology Enables Wireless Operation
The built-in Bluetooth® unit provides a wireless connection with an optional Bluetooth® headset or external Bluetooth® equipment. It also has a VOX function that enables automatic voice transmission in response to your voice, allowing hands-free operation. In addition, third-party wireless Bluetooth® headset (Like a 3M™ Peltor™ WS™ 5) can be used with the radio. Wireless radio programming over Bluetooth® also possible.
Bluetooth® connection has not been tested for all Bluetooth® compatible devices with this product. This does not guarantee that all devices will work with this product.
microSD Card Slot for Voice and Data Storage
The IC-F7500 series has a microSD card* slot for data storage. Call record (transmitted and received) audio, GPS log, memory channel settings and firmware file can all be saved onto the microSD card.
A microSD/microSDHC is required (up to 32 GB).
USB Connector for PC Connection
The P25 radio can be connected to a PC via a USB (micro-B) port, allowing for data transfer mode, or accessing the installed microSD card in mass storage mode.
D-SUB 25-pin Accessory Connector
The P25 radio has a programmable D-SUB 25-pin accessory connector for connecting external devices. External PTT, channel mode, horn, PA (public address), RX speaker, ignition switch and dimmer control are programmable.

Voice, Audio and Emergency Features
Customizable Audio Quality
P25 radios also implement audio features and settings to compliment the performance of the vocoder.
Functions | Features |
---|---|
Voice Recording/Playback | This function records incoming and outgoing calls in WAV format. Various communication data is embedded in the WAV file, such as User IDs, GPS position, frequency, etc. Up to 500 hours can record to a 32 GB microSD card (user supplied). |
TX/RX Audio Equalizer | This function can improve the audio readability by increasing or decreasing particular audio frequency components. (Flat, high/mid/low boost, low cut) |
AF Volume Equalizing | This function adds high-pass filter to provide clear, intelligible audio, when increases the volume |
TX/RX Active Noise Canceller | This function suppresses background noise and improves both transmitted voice and incoming calls. |
Emergency Call and Alert
To ensure users safety, P25 handheld radios have the following four emergency related functions. If one of these functions are activated, the radio automatically sends an emergency signal.
Functions | Features |
---|---|
Emergency Button |
When pressed the Emergency button, the P25 radio automatically transmits an emergency call once or repeatedly. |
Lone Worker | When no operation is performed for the specified time period, the radio enters the Emergency mode. |
Power OFF emergency | This function makes the radio transmit Emergency calls, even though it appears to be powered OFF. |
Other Features

Ingress Protection (IP) Code
Ingress Protection (IP) ratings define the level of protection provided by enclosures to prevent the ingress of foreign objects (dust) and liquid into the electrical equipment.
International Standard IEC 60529 outlines an international classification system that describes the sealing characteristics of electrical equipment.
The classification system uses the “IP” code, or “Ingress Protection” code, to define the level of seal.
An IP number contains two numbers (i.e. IP67) in most instances which relate to the level of protection provided by an enclosure or housing.
Either number may be shown as “X” (i.e. IPX6 / IP7X) to indicate the “X” part is not tested.
Degrees of Solid Particle Protection – 1st Digit
IP6x | No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact. (Dust tight) |
---|---|
IP5x | Protected from the amount of dust that would interfere with normal operation. (Dust protected) |
Degrees of Liquid Ingress Protection – 2nd Digit
IPx8 | Protected against continuous immersion in water. Depth and duration specified by model. |
---|---|
IPx7 | Protected against temporary immersion in water for 1 m (3.3 ft) for 30 minutes |
IPx6 | Protected against water projected by powerful jets from any direction. 100 L per minute by a powerful jets (12.5 mm) for 3 minutes. |
IPx5 | Protected against water projected by jets from any direction. 12.5 L per minute by a nozzle (6.3 mm) for 3 minutes. |
IPx4 | Protected against water splashed against the equipment from any direction |
