Simple Operation for Instant Communication
With only 3 buttons, one volume knob and one 16-position channel knob, the IC-F3013 series does not require special training to use. The large knobs and positive action buttons are easy-to-operate, even while wearing gloves.
Modern Design, Rugged Body
The IC-F3013 series is compact (120 mm; 423/32 inch height) and light weight (approximate 300 g; 10.6 oz with BP-232N and antenna). The aluminum die-cast chassis is the basis for this rugged construction, allowing long-life usage in various environments.
MIL-STD and IP54 Rugged Construction
The radio is tested to MIL-STD 810 specifications and to the IP54 rating for dust protection and water resistance. The IC-F3013 series is built to take harsh use and keep working.
Lithium-Ion Battery Standard
The IC-F3013 series comes with a high capacity 2000 mAh(typ.) Li-Ion battery pack, BP-232N, as standard. The BP-232N offers up to 18 hours* of operation.
* VHF typical operation with Tx:Rx:Stand-by ratio =5:5:90
Most Popular Signalings Built-in
Use the built-in 2-Tone, 5-Tone, MDC 1200, CTCSS and DTCS capabilities as standard to set up your own talk groups and quiet stand-by when others are talking.
MDC 1200 PTT ID and Emergency
The IC-F3013 series has a built-in MDC 1200 encoder for transmitting a PTT ID and emergency* signal. Assimilate the IC-F3013 easily into existing MDC 1200 systems.
* No ACK transmission
Rapid Battery Charger Supplied
The rapid desktop charger, BC-160 and AC adapter BC-145 is supplied with the radio. It charges the BP-232N Li-Ion battery in 3 hours (approx.).
Automatic Scanning and Priority Scan
The power on scan function automatically starts scanning when turning on the radio. The priority scan function scans all programmed channels in sequence, while monitoring the priority channel.

Ingress Protection (IP) Code
Ingress Protection (IP) ratings define the level of protection provided by enclosures to prevent the ingress of foreign objects (dust) and liquid into the electrical equipment.
International Standard IEC 60529 outlines an international classification system that describes the sealing characteristics of electrical equipment.
The classification system uses the “IP” code, or “Ingress Protection” code, to define the level of seal.
An IP number contains two numbers (i.e. IP67) in most instances which relate to the level of protection provided by an enclosure or housing.
Either number may be shown as “X” (i.e. IPX6 / IP7X) to indicate the “X” part is not tested.

Degrees of Solid Particle Protection – 1st Digit
IP6x | No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact. (Dust tight) |
---|---|
IP5x | Protected from the amount of dust that would interfere with normal operation. (Dust protected) |
Degrees of Liquid Ingress Protection – 2nd Digit
IPx8 | Protected against continuous immersion in water. Depth and duration specified by model. |
---|---|
IPx7 | Protected against temporary immersion in water for 1 m (3.3 ft) for 30 minutes |
IPx6 | Protected against water projected by powerful jets from any direction. 100 L per minute by a powerful jets (12.5 mm) for 3 minutes. |
IPx5 | Protected against water projected by jets from any direction. 12.5 L per minute by a nozzle (6.3 mm) for 3 minutes. |
IPx4 | Protected against water splashed against the equipment from any direction |
