HF/50 MHz AUTOMATIC ANTENNA TUNER
AH-6
Lightweight & Compact Antenna Tuner Compatible with Both Long Wire and 50 Ω Antennas
Features
Wide Frequency Coverage
Provides matching across all bands from 1.8 MHz (160 m) to 50 MHz (6 m)*, enabling efficient multiband operation with a single wire antenna. Ideal for portable and field operations where quick antenna setup is essential.
Wire length requirements: 1.8 MHz band: 30 m (65.6 ft) or more, 3.5 MHz band and above: 7 m (23 ft) or more. A ground connection is required. Tuning may not be possible, depending on the environment and conditions.
SO-239 Antenna Connector for 50 Ω Antenna
The SO-239 antenna connector provides a direct connection to a 50 Ω antenna. Both long wire and 50 Ω antennas, such as verticals and dipoles, can be used* and are selectable with a switch.
Do not connect two antennas at the same time to prevent damage to the antenna tuner during transmission.
Compact & Lightweight Body for Portable Operation
The same compact size as the AH-4, 50%* smaller and lighter than the AH-730. Cables can be connected without opening the cover, enabling quick and easy installation.
Approximately
High Speed Tuning
Simply press the "TUNER" switch on the connected transceiver for fully automatic tuning in 2–3 seconds. The 200-channel memory stores matching settings, enabling re-tuning at the same frequency in approximately one second.
Minimized Interference During Tuning
During tuning, the AH-6 reduces RF output to approximately 0.3 W through the attenuator, minimizing interference with other stations.
IP54 Rugged Construction for Outdoor Installation
The body is made of a high-rigidity resin. With a water-resistant structure that includes waterproofing, weather resistance and protection against salt damage, it can be safely installed in various outdoor locations.
Supplied Accessories
- Control cable OPC-1465 (10 m, 32.8 ft)

Ingress Protection (IP) Code
Ingress Protection (IP) ratings define the level of protection provided by enclosures to prevent the ingress of foreign objects (dust) and liquid into the electrical equipment.
International Standard IEC 60529 outlines an international classification system that describes the sealing characteristics of electrical equipment.
The classification system uses the “IP” code, or “Ingress Protection” code, to define the level of seal.
An IP number contains two numbers (i.e. IP67) in most instances which relate to the level of protection provided by an enclosure or housing.
Either number may be shown as “X” (i.e. IPX6 / IP7X) to indicate the “X” part is not tested.
Degrees of Solid Particle Protection – 1st Digit
| IP6x | No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact. (Dust tight) |
|---|---|
| IP5x | Protected from the amount of dust that would interfere with normal operation. (Dust protected) |
Degrees of Liquid Ingress Protection – 2nd Digit
| IPx8 | Protected against continuous immersion in water. Depth and duration specified by model. |
|---|---|
| IPx7 | Protected against temporary immersion in water for 1 m (3.3 ft) for 30 minutes |
| IPx6 | Protected against water projected by powerful jets from any direction. 100 L per minute by a powerful jets (12.5 mm) for 3 minutes. |
| IPx5 | Protected against water projected by jets from any direction. 12.5 L per minute by a nozzle (6.3 mm) for 3 minutes. |
| IPx4 | Protected against water splashed against the equipment from any direction |
