Sponsorship of Takarabune Regatta

Icom sponsored the "Takarabune Regatta 2026" as a Gold Sponsor. The event was held from May 14 to 18, 2026, at Suma Yacht Harbor in Kobe, Japan.

The Takarabune Regatta is an international yacht racing event that has been fostering exchange between NPO Suma Yacht Club and the Seattle Yacht Club for 45 years. The two clubs are sister clubs, engaging in exchange activities — including visits to each other's clubs every three years — aimed at promoting friendship and mutual understanding between Japanese and American cultures. In particular, the Takarabune Regatta, a yacht race competing for the " Takarabune Regatta Trophy," serves as the centerpiece of these exchange activities.

Icom's U.S. subsidiary, Icom America, is headquartered in Seattle. In light of this local presence and the event's mission of "deepening bonds of international friendship and connecting local communities with global sailing culture," Icom chose to sponsor the regatta in support of community contribution and the promotion of cross-cultural exchange.
