Sponsorship for the Aridagawa Town Ekiden Road Relay Race with IP transceiver
We sponsored the relay race held in Aridagawa on 2 March 2025 with the IP502H IP transceiver that operates on the LTE mobile network.
A total of 270 people (45 teams), including students and working adults, participated in the Aridagawa Town Ekiden Road Relay Race. This Ekiden Road Relay Race is a 20.7 km course that starts at the former Shirama Junior High School and ends at the Kibi Dome, with 6 runners (1 alternate) in each team.
Aridagawa is the location of the Wakayama Icom Arida factory, where our radios are manufactured, and we sponsored the operation of this relay race with the IP502H IP transceiver as a contribution to the local community.
The P502H was placed at the headquarters and each relay station, as well as in the lead PR vehicle and other operating vehicles. In addition to reporting the time when the runners passed the relay stations, the tracking management system was also used to track the location of the operating vehicles.
One of the event official staffs commented, “The tracking management system made it easy to track the location of the vehicles. And this enabled us to manage the departure timing of the buses transporting athletes to and from the various relay stations and to prepare smoothly for the awards ceremony. The system was also very easy to use, with clear audio both in the vehicles and in the building.”
