- Why did Icom release the 3D model for the IC-705?
- We released the 3D model to support IC-705 users around the world, who are intrested in exploring the fun of customizing IC-705 using technologies such as 3D printing.
- How do I open the downloaded 3D data?
- The STL file format of the 3D data is compatible with a number of 3D modeling software, including freeware.
Please note that we cannot provide any advice or answer any questions about 3D modeling software or 3D printers.
- How accurate is the 3D model?
- Some details of this 3D model are simplified to the extent that they do not interfere with the purpose of creating custom parts for IC-705. Therefore, you may notice some differences compared to the actual product.
ICOM 3D Data License Agreement
Please be sure to read and consent to these terms and conditions of this Agreement before downloading and using the 3D Data of our products.
This Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions for use of the IC-705 Exterior Case 3D Data (hereinafter referred to as "3D Data") provided by ICOM INCORPORATED (hereinafter referred to as "Icom") by and between Icom and the customer using the 3D Data (hereinafter referred to as "Customer").
The Customer shall comply with the terms and conditions of this agreement when the Customer uses the 3D Data.
If the Customer does not agree to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Customer will not be permitted to download and/or use the 3D Data.
When the Customer selects the "Download" button, Icom considers that the Customer has agreed to the entirety of this Agreement.
Purpose
The 3D Data has been prepared for the purpose of allowing the Customer to enjoy a better customization experience by creating their own options and accessories when using the Icom product "IC-705".
For the avoidance of doubt, Icom does not recommend disassembling or modifying the radio itself, so please do not do this.
License
Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Icom shall grant to the Customer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable and non-sublicensable license to use the 3D Data within the Customer’s own personal scope or other limited scope equivalent thereto.
The 3D Data and accompanying documents are licensed, not transferred and sold, to the Customer by Icom in accordance with this Agreement.
The Customer may copy the 3D Data only for the Customer's own design and production of options and/or accessories on a computer owned or controlled by the Customer.
Except as set forth above, any copy of the 3D Data and accompanying documents generated by the Customer, in any form, is a violation of this Agreement.
Limitation on Use.
The Customer shall not do the following when using the 3D Data;
a) Modify, alter, or otherwise process all or part of the 3D Data.
b) Creation of derivative works based on the 3D Data.
c) Make copies of Icom products.
d) Make any items for commercial sale, business use and/or any other monetization activity
e) Any other use for any purpose other than the purpose under this Agreement.
The Customer shall not delete, modify, or otherwise process any copyright or other rights-related information attached to, displayed, embedded in the 3D Data or any accompanying documents.
The Customer shall not attach Icom trademarks to any options and/or accessories designed and product by the Customer.
No Assignment
The Customer shall not assign, sublicense, transfer, delegate, lend, lease and time rent, or otherwise transfer its rights and obligations under this Agreement to any third party.
The Customer agrees that the 3D Data and any accompanying documents and any rights and authorities related thereto, including but not limited to patent rights, copyrights, trademark rights, and other intellectual property rights and ownership, shall belong to Icom, and shall not be transferred, assigned, and licensed to the Customer except as expressly provided in this Agreement.
The Customer agrees that the Customer has no claim to and ownership of the 3D Data and accompanying documents or any patent, copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights related thereto.
In any case, Icom reserves all rights and authority contained in the 3D Data and accompanying documents, regardless of the type of medium or other media on which the 3D Data and accompanying documents concerned or its copies obtained therefrom are stored.
Limitation of Warranty
EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH HEREIN AND TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, 3D DATA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, Icom EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS AS TO 3D DATA ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, DATA INTEGRITY, ERROR-FREE OPERATION, ABSENCE OF ANOMALIES OR NONCONFORMITIES, OR SATISFACTORY QUALITY, NON-INTERFERENCE, OR ACCURACY OF INFORMATIONAL CONTENT.
Risk related to the 3D Data and accompanying documents shall be borne by the Customer.
If any defect is found in the 3D Data and accompanying documents and arising any damage or costs basis on service or repair for the Customer, Icom shall not be liable for these damages and costs, and these damages and costs shall be responsible for the Customer.
This disclaimer of warranty shall constitute an essential part of this Agreement.
Icom also disclaims all warranties regarding the 3D Data to any third party other than the Customer.
Limitation of Liability
In no event Icom shall be liable for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages arising out of the Customer's use the 3D Data or any accompanying documents, including but not limited to damages for profit loss, lost profits, lost business or lost opportunity, or any consequential or exemplary damages, including legal fees, arising out of such use or inability to use the 3D Data.
Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of Japan, without reference to conflicts of laws principles. All controversies and disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Osaka District Court in Osaka, Japan.
Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire contract between the Customer and Icom with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes and cancels all the prior representations, negotiations, commitment, undertakings, communications, and cancels all the prior representations, negotiations, commitments and agreements between the Customer and Icom with respect to or in connection with any of the matters or things to which such agreement applies or refers.
General Principle
If any provision of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable by any law or court, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected in any way. The Customer shall conform and perform the invalid or unenforceable provision by a provision closest possible to the original intent of the invalid or unenforceable provision.
