Icom Supports Kami-minami Junior High School's Workplace Experience Program
Icom supported the workplace experience program conducted by Osaka Municipal Kami-minami Junior High School (Hirano Ward, Osaka City) on November 26 and 27, 2025. As the school is located near our headquarters and business offices, we have been hosting workplace experience sessions for their students since last year. The program aims to convey the appeal of manufacturing and technology from the perspective of a radio manufacturer.
Four second-year students participated in the workplace experience program, which included a tour of our showroom, wireless communication activities, and manufacturing experiences. During the showroom tour, the students listened intently to explanations about how radio equipment is used for business and as a hobby, and how it benefits society by being used in various locations, ranging from land to air to sea. In the manufacturing experience, the students soldered components to assemble items such as metal detectors, music boxes, and FM radios. After completing the two-day program, the students provided feedback such as, "Soldering was challenging, but the sense of accomplishment on completion was great," and "I want to learn more about radio equipment."
